Brett Barry was contacted in 2013 by Jeff Ferris, a long-time fan, encourager and supporter of Brett’s music and co-author of Amy's book, about helping write a song for her; something Jeff was inspired to begin as he worked with her over the past couple of years.

Brett was immediately impacted by the story and photos Jeff shared. Deeply encouraged and challenged, he began writing. As Brett was mixing the song, he ordered a copy of Amy’s book. Her passion, dedication and determination to grow as an individual exceeds that of an Olympic gold medalist, as does her love for God and thankfulness to Him...in spite of her personal obstacles. The life testimony of both Amy and her family is truly inspiring.

Finishing the song, Brett went to work on a music video. As Brett and his team were bringing it to a close, He had the chance to meet Amy and her parents in person. Brett recalls their time together that, though they, like the rest of us, have those days of being more human than any of us like to admit, each are high on his list of heroes - both in the Faith and of people to watch in order to learn. Overall, Janet and Rich are true, humble servants of God. And Amy, well, she's a character, with character. A whole person even without limbs.

If Brett was to sum up in a few words the impact her book and person had on his heart, it would be this: “When those who seemingly cannot, somehow do, it reminds those of us who can just how much we must. I am officially an Amy Brooks fan.”
